INSURANCE

·         Toll-Free Insurance Hotline and Resources for Victims of Hurricane Rita. Texas Watch has created a toll-free Hurricane Rita Insurance Hotline. Victims of Hurricane Rita who have been unfairly treated or denied a claim by their insurance company are encouraged to call the hotline at 1-888-738-4226 and share their story. The hotline will be open Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm CST.

In light of recent Katrina-related insurance industry abuses, Texans affected by Hurricane Rita should be particularly careful when pursuing their insurance claims.

While Texas Watch will not be able to directly solve victims’ insurance problems, we will monitor complaints, refer complaints to the appropriate government agencies and keep records of insurance industry abuses.

Please send this message to your friends and family by clicking here.
