Medicaid: 
Texas Medicaid is health insurance that helps many people who can’t afford medical care pay for some or all of their medical bills. The purpose of Medicaid in Texas is to improve the health of people who might otherwise go without medical care for themselves and their children. 
 
Who is eligible?
·         Resident of Texas, U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted immigrant admitted in the U.S. before August 22, 1996, or refugees qualifying for Medicaid for 7 years upon arrival in the U.S.
·         Meet the requirements of income and assets
·         Low-income families with children
·         Children 18 years of age and under
·         Pregnant woman
·         SSI recipients
·         Aged, blind, or disabled persons
