HEALTH CARE PROGRAMS
· Providing Health Screenings and Health Education, including Glucose, Cholesterol, and Blood Pressure testing, Osteoporosis Screenings, Vision Screenings, Foot Exams, and Immunizations in collaboration with private Doctors, the Harris County Hospital District, Vietnamese American Pharmacy Students Society (VAPSS), University of Houston, College of Pharmacy and College of Optometry, since 1997, and supported, in part by the Harris County Area Agency on Aging (HCAAA) since 2004.
· Collaborating with the Asian American Health Coalition to extend its work started in the Diabetes Awareness & Education (2003) and Mammogram Screenings & Education of breast cancer prevention, since 2004.
· Assisting with applications for Gold Card, Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Medicare, and Medicaid in collaboration with the Harris County Hospital District (HCHD), since 1999.
· Assisting with counseling for Victims of Domestic & Sexual Violence in collaboration with the Houston Area Women’s Center, since 2005.
· Assisting with applications for Eye Glasses, Hearing Aid, and Dental Care for Harris County Seniors in collaboration with the Harris County Area Agency on Aging (HCAAA), 2004.
· Assisting with applications for Free Therapy for Harris County Seniors in collaboration the Asian American Family Services (AAFS), 2004.
· Assisting with applications for Medicare-Approved Prescription Drug Discount Card, and Medicare Part D in collaboration with the Harris County Area Agency on Aging (HCAAA) and National Asian Pacific Center on Aging (NAPCA), since 2004.
· Hosting Blood Drives in collaboration with the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center, since 1999. |
